National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted to evaluate the eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor and for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). The exam pattern is designed to test the candidates through two papers; Paper I and Paper II. The first paper is a general paper which includes Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) on teaching and research aptitude. The second paper is subject based.

Syllabus for Paper I

Exam Name: NTA UGC NET

Subject Code: 00

Subject Name: General Paper on Teaching and Research Aptitude

Paper 1 is a General Paper and is compulsory for all subjects. The UGC NET Exam paper 1 contains Fifty (50) multiple choice questions, each question carries two (2) marks each. The candidate is expected to answer all Fifty (50) questions in 1 hour (60 minutes) duration.

Each section of the syllabus will get equal weight i.e. five questions and 10 marks each section.  Whenever pictorial questions are set for the sighted candidates a passage followed by an equal number of questions should be set for the visually handicapped candidates.

Subject Name: YOGA

Paper 2 is Subject-based. The UGC NET Exam paper 2 contains Hundred (100) multiple choice questions, each question carries two (2) marks each. The candidate is expected to answer all Hundred (100) questions in 2 hours (120 minutes) duration.
